This week on the Seven O'Clock Sample, we are exploring samples that have been used by the Digable Planets. Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, Mary Ann "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira and Craig "Doodlebug" Irving created some of the most influential hip hop of the mid-90s. They only gave us two album at the Digable Planets, but those two projects are classic hip hop material. On their second album BLOWOUT COMB, the group grabbed up a funky synth line from the JBs.

This song has been used by a lot of artists, but the DPs used the JBs on their track "9th Wonder."
