We wrap up this week's Seven O'Clock Sample exploration of the Alternative Rock hits of the 1990s.  If there was one song that defined the summer of 1996, this would be it...

Sublime's rise to fame was a breath of fresh air in the mid-90s.  While harder grunge rock was breaking into the the top 10, Sumblime's mix of reggae, rock and rap was a nice change for the moment.  It also had MASSIVE appeal.

This song not only samples a Beastie Boy's lick, but the main meldoy comes from Herbie Mann's cover of "Summertime".
