STEM in Style: A Celebration of Women in STEM

On February 23rd, the Milwaukee Area Science Advocates will reimagine the runway and use it to highlight inspiring women in STEM in the Milwaukee area.

STEM In Style: A Celebration of Women in STEM is MASA’s inaugural benefit to support science in the Milwaukee area and honor 10 women in STEM for inspiring younger generations, creating a positive impact in the Milwaukee community and excelling in their STEM careers. This gala is determined to spark a conversation inspiring younger generations to inquire into the STEM fields.

There will be hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and a runway show. The event is 21+ and requires cocktail attire.

Danceworks Performance Company’s Women Who Dance

A coalition of empowered women from all walks of life will come together to dance diverse styles from a variety of perspectives.

Danceworks Performance Company shares the stage with other inspiring, eclectic dancing women from the Milwaukee community. Sarah Wilbur, founding Artistic Director of Danceworks Performance Company, returns to the city to remount Disclosure Tactics, a dance for herself and 18 women, that asks the question – why do we dance? Another force to be reckoned with, the vibrant women of Panadanza will perform dances of Latin America and lead a Brazilian Samba lesson! Women and men alike – let’s celebrate the Women Who Dance!

Orender has a stellar business career having worked in the sports television and production industry before spending 17 years at the PGA Tour. She brought tremendous growth in her work as the global lead in production, programming, digital and television negotiations, working in the Office of the Commissioner. In 2005, she was recruited by the Commissioner of the NBA to become President of the WNBA, where the double digit growth during her leadership in all business metrics were achieved against a very tough business environment.
