Milwaukee County residents dropping off unused household chemicals and other hazardous waste Friday and Saturday at State Fair Park could drive away with a free pair of tickets to the Milwaukee Bucks regular season opener Nov 2nd against the Toronto Raptors. Ticket winners will be randomly selected from the residents participating in the annual fall household hazardous waste collection. Info found here.
Gov. Scott Walker and Republican legislative leaders have proposed a new property tax-relief bill they say will provide $100 million in relief to WI homeowners over the next four years. Walker says a typical homeowner in WI would save about $680 over four years under the plan, as a result from higher-than-expected growth in state revenue due to the growing economy and job creation.
The Milwaukee Public Library announced they've commissioned two artists to create public art installations in the East Library, which is currently being remodeled. The two winning local artists are Santiago Cucullu and Kathryn E. Martin. Learn more about each artist and the projects they have planned here.
Associated Bank annouced they will close eight branches, including six in Wisconsin and move or eliminate many of its corporate positions in La Crosse. Green Bay-based Associated will close branches in the first quarter of 2014 and the majority of affected employees will be offered relocations to other branches in Wisconsin. More info found online.
