A plan to raise WI's speed limit from 65 to 70 mph will be unveiled in Madison today. The increase will bring WI in line with neighboring states who already have 70 mph speed limits.
Local Briggs & Stratton Corp union employees rejected a proposed new four-year labor agreement on Saturday when just 162 of the 395 Briggs employees in Wauwatosa and Menomonee Local 2-232 voted on Saturday. Briggs leadership is working with union leaders to schedule meetings to continue negotiations.
MillerCoors union workers in Milwaukee averted a potential strike Sunday with approval of a new three-year labor contract. 83% of the 416 workers represented by the United Auto Workers Local 9 voted in favor of the proposal. The new contract includes wage increases and improvements in life insurance and sick benefits.
The Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design doesn't have an engineering college. Marquette University doesn't have an industrial design program. Over the next two years, Marquette and MIAD will work together to create new programs to give undergraduate industrial design and engineering students at each institution a combined skill set to help them become creative, innovative problem-solvers.
