The WI Department of Natural Resources is warning swimmers and boaters to watch out for blue-green algae blooms. They produce toxins that can cause a range of ailments, including stomach aches, flu-like symptoms, rashes and hives. DNR experts suggest not wading in water if you cannot see your feet, washing off after swimming in any lake or pond and rinsing your pets off to prevent them from ingesting any blue-green algae on their fur.

The Special Olympics Wisconsin State Outdoor Sports Tournament takes place this weekend in Waukesha. Athletes will compete in events such as bocce, golf, tee ball, soft ball and tennis at Carroll University, Moor Downs Golf Course and the Saratogo Softball Complex.
