Milwaukee residents plan to fight the opening of a new Dollar Tree store on the corner of North Avenue and King Drive in the Bronzeville neighborhood. Residents and city officials say they were promised a full-service grocery store where they had access to fresh fruits and vegetables.  The city had helped the building owner put together a loan through the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. to open a grocery store.

The United Performing Arts Fund raised a record setting $11,005,419 for local performing arts groups during its annual campaign, surpassing last year by almost a million dollars.
