The Milwaukee Christian Center has moved into a new, bigger home and has a new director. The newly renovated center's 25,000 square-foot- building at 14th and National now has space for a senior meal program for Hmong and Laotian elders, a Kid's Place after-school program and an expanded food pantry to accommodate the growing demand.

More than three-dozen city employees have told their supervisors that they have chosen to take advantage of a new state law that ends residency rules for public-sector employees to live in the city of Milwaukee. Paramedics, police officers, firefighters and workers from Milwaukee's Health Department are among employees who will be moving outside of Milwaukee soon.

Our pals at OnMilwaukee.com have put together a Haunted House guide for the upcoming fall Halloween season. The list includes cursed mansions, spooky corn mazes and haunted hikes. A link to all the events found here.

Automakers Nissan and Mazda have announced separate recalls totalling nearly 253,000 cars. Mazda warned that doors in up to 98,000 Mazda6 sedans could open while the cars are in motion due to faulty door latching screws in modle years 2009 through 2013. Nissan said it's recalled over 161,000  of its Infiniti models which could stall while in motion.
