Because of bitterly cold weather in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday, Milwaukee Public Schools will close both days.

Great Lakes Pet Expo will celebrate its 10th anniversary Saturday with 300 exhibitors, entertainment on three stages, a puppy playground and a tribute to veterans and their pets. The expo will include speed dating, where visitors have an opportunity to request a speed date with an animal featured in the parade of rescues. Info found here.

The 2014 Grammys were held last night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Daft Punk took home 4 awards for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Dance Electronica Record of the Year, Lorde won Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year for "Royals" and Vampire Weekend won Best Alternative Music Album. The U.S. military conducted an airstrike in southern Somalia on Sunday against a suspected militant leaker. The target was described as a "senior leader" affiliated with al Quaeda and Al-Shabaab, al Qaeda's affiliate in Somalia. The U.S. has not yet been able to determine whether the target was killed.
