The Milwaukee Public Library begins their annual Super Reader Summer Reading Program today. The program encourages children to read or be read to every day during the summer, while tracking reading progress to win incentives like free food and admission to Milwaukee attractions. Interested families are invited to Sign-Up Saturday on May 18th at the Downtown Public Library.

Whitefish Bay superintendent Mary Gavigan has announced she will be leaving the district in favor of an executive director post at the Cooperative Educational Service Agency. The CESA provides school districts with services in special education, staffing, consultations, professional development services and student learning programs.

A follow up to yesterday's story, at the city of Milwaukee Community and Economic Development Committee meeting to determine the future of Sweet Water Organics, Michael Feker, MSOE professor and Il Mito owner, led a group announcing their plans to take over the space and continue the work started by Sweet Water. They proposed a teaching facility and kitchen space that can be used by area chefs.

In music news, the first ever music video from space has been recorded and received here on earth. Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station recorded a revised version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity".  The video shows him and his amazing mustache floating around the space station, singing Bowie's classic.
