IRS Commissioner Steve Miller has resigned amid the scandal over the Internal Revenue Service's selective targeting of conservative groups. In a brief speech from the White House, President Obama said it's "important to institute new leadership that can help restore confidence" in the IRS.

The cable channel TBS will air a reality comedy show called "Cheeseheads" set in Green Bay, WI. From producer Jason Carbone (The Bachelor/Bachelorette) comes a show about "citizens that don't just bleed green and gold; they eat victory for breakfast". No start date has been announced.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett kicks off the city's annual summer jobs program today. Earn & Learn employs nearly 3,000 young people each summer. Employers have until July 1st to join the program, and the deadline for youths to apply is 4 p.m. today.

As reported by the Neighborhood News Service, a new charter school is set to open in the 65the Street School building. Milwaukee Environmental Sciences will be a year-round Expeditionary Learning school, using hands-on projects to teach kids. More than 150 schools in 31 states use this model.
