Of all the names for genres of music, "boogaloo" has to be the best.
While I cannot offer any proof of this fact, I do have a mix of the music from the weekend that is bound to satisfy lovers of soul music. It'll also scratch whatever itch you have for Latin sounds.
Boogaloo really never made it. As a genre, it's pretty much dead, having morphed rather quickly into the wholly Latin form we know to be "salsa."
But for a spell, it was the sound of a burgeoning Latin music scene centered around immigrants from Latin America who settled in NYC and came of age in the late 50's and 60's.
This is a mix of that music...
