Our newest resident ensemble, Orquesta Tumbao was formed in 2011 to bring together some of the tremendous Latin Jazz performers on the faculty of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music who are also members of some of the hottest bands in Milwaukee.
This all-star group is dedicated to promoting Latin jazz, educating the public about the rich traditions and cultural origins of the music, and delivering high energy performances of classics from the repertoire.

During this concert, Orquesta Tumbao presents Latin Jazz classics made famous by the some of the great Congeros: Poncho Sanchez, Chano Pozo, Carlos Valdez, Mongo Santamaria and Candido Camero.
