Talkin' 'Bout Our Next Generation/Make A Difference Week 3

Our Next Generation is creating THIS generation's leaders. Conveniently located at 34th and Lisbon (just west of Amaranth Bakery: nummers), ONG, a non-profit, community-based organization, provides everything: homework help, one on one tutoring, arts, recreation, job-skill training, character-building, among other things.

I met with four key people, and one of them I had encountered before: Devon (accent on the second syllable, please) Gildart (a senior at Pulaski High School), as well as Bob Dunn (President and CEO of Our Next Generation), Codi Alger (no relation, as far as I know, to Horatio Alger) (Public Relations and Volunteer Coordinator), and Rukiya Alexander (Educational Coordinator).

What is truly amazing about this and other organizations of its kind is the sheer dedication and people-power required and necessary to empower and embolden this generation of Milwaukee youth.
