During a "whiskey-fueled" weekend in the spring of 2012, the rapper Astronautalis posted a series of photos of a recording session in Justin Vernon's April Base studio.  The session included Justin Vernon (Bon Iver, Volcano Choir), S. Carey (Bon Iver), Ryan Olson (Polica, Gayngs) and Astronautalis.  In a 2012 interview with the City Pages, Astronautalis announced the project will be a hip hop project to a certain degree. Astronautalis also stated that project should be released "soon."  Then months went by and no word about the project's release date or even the name of the group until yesterday.

After over 2 years, the name of collaboration between Vernon, Carey, Olson and Astronautalis has finally surfaced as Jason Feathers.  A teaser video was also released that features a snippet of a possible song featuring Vernon on vocals. Watch it below.
