5 O'Clock Shadow 3-15-13: Everybody Knows

Do you ever feel pessimistic? I'm willing to bet you've never felt as bitter about the world as today's 5 O'Clock Shadow.

Concrete Blonde took on Leonard Cohen's 1988 classic "Everybody Knows" which seems like a tough job for an alt-rock band with a female lead (that isn't even blonde!). However, singer Johnette Napolitano substitutes Cohen's deep baritone for her own velvety voice to create a whole new version. Though the two tracks are only seperated by two years, it's amazing to hear the stark difference in popular style.

Take a listen to both versions below!
