Celebrate National Dog Week in September by spending quality time with your best friend at the Spot on Bone Appetit Dog-Friendly Dog Tour, on Saturday September 29th from 10am to 2pm. Organized by Milwaukee Food Tours, this bus tour will include treat samples, activities at dog bakeries and parks and lunch at a pet-friendly restaurant. More info can be found here.
The Pleasant Street bridge over the Milwaukee River at Commerce Street, just north of Downtown has shut down as it undgergoes construction work to fix it up the deck, railing and pedestrian walks. The bridge is scheduled to reopen next August.
Classes begin today at the UW-Milwaukee School of Public Health, the first of it's kind in Wisconsin. The new five-story building is part of the redevelopment in the former Pabst brewery and is one of only fifty Schools like this in the U.S.
Registration is now open for Microsoft's 11th Annual "Imagine Cup", the world's biggest technology competition for high school and college students. Previous teams from around the world have created everything from a smartphone app that diagnoses malaria to an app that connects restaurants with homeless shelters to provide leftover meals.
