State superintendent Tony Evers wants WI to spend $7 million over the next few years to administer ACT tests to all high school students in place of the current test. Starting in 9th grade the assessment will help identify a student's strengths and weaknesses along with educational options. The Legislature and Governor Walker will have to approve this proposal before it moves forward.
The WI Department of Consumer Protection is warning people about a computer scam called "Ransomware", which locks up a computer screen with a message the user owes a fine for looking up illegal stuff on the internet, prompting a $200 payment to have service restored.
Milwaukee County is looking to sell a 2.17 acre parcel of land in the Park East Corridor that has been put on the market twice before. Located between N Milwaukee St and Broadway, it's one of the larger lots set for redevelopment since the Park East Freeway was torn down in 2003.
