As reported by the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families released a report that Milwaukee child care centers are being reimbursed by the state at 13 percent less per month per child than the market rate for private-paying parents. These reducesed subsidies make day care less affordable for low income families.

On Friday, Kohl's Corp closed a land deal with Menomonee Falls related to their new headquarters project. The transaction included a $7.4 million office building sale, a $2 million grant and 103 acres in an office park.

As reported by WUWM: A recent report by the Center for Responsive Politics places the total cost of the 2012 elections at an estimated $6 billion, which would make it the most expensive election in U.S. History.

As you may have heard, Mayor Michael Bloomberg cancelled the New York City Marathon Friday evening, 36 hours before the event was about to start. However, a group of nearly 1,300 runners boarded the Staten Island Ferry and headed toward the starting line to run their own marathon...carrying garbage bags and backpacks full of donated supplies ranging from blankets to Home Depot gift cards that delivered to the destroyed homes of Staten Island residents.
