Poet and songwriter Johnny Flynn is often mentioned in the same breath as Laura Marling, with whom he's collaborated and toured. Harnessing inspiration from great writers such as Yeats and Shakespeare, Flynn is a connoisseur of words, which he sings with conviction and honesty. His songwriting is fleshed out by the warmly layered guitars, strings, trumpets and percussion of his band, The Sussex Wit.

Sitting down with World Cafe host David Dye, Flynn discusses everything from his rebellious roots to the process of writing his latest album. Two years after becoming the poster boy for the nu-folk scene, Flynn and his band released Been Listening in October. The result proves to be no less warm, and no less cunning than Flynn's earlier work.
