This Saturday, Milwaukee will host it's second annual Eastside Jazz Festival. While the festival will not be on MIlwaukee's eastside, the spirit of the scene will fill the Todd Wehr Center on Milwaukee's downtown MSOE campus.
The festival is not on the Eastside? Why call it the eastside Jazz fest?
“The Jazz Estate is the hub for the musicians, and it’s on the East Side,” explains Jamie Breiwick. “The club has consistently provided the city with high-quality jazz.”
The Eastside Jazzfest was organized by three veteran Milwaukee musicians who saw a definite need for Milwaukee’s jazz scene to be recognized apart from other music festivals in the region. Neil Davis, Jamie Breiwick and Kevin Hayden organized the first festival to showcase the unique sound and talent of Milwaukee’s jazz scene – particularly that of the city’s vibrant Eastside.
This mornning Neil and Steve Peplin joined Jordan in the 88NINE studios to tell us more about the festival
The festival is at the Todd Wehr Conference Center on the MSOE CAMPUS.
