This week's mixtape is close to my heart. It is all about the contribution of black artist to electronic and dance music. From the early sounds of Electro and Detroit Techno, to the UK sounds of Trip-Hop and Drum and Bass, to the experimental beats of today, Black artist have put a stamp on Electronic and Dance Music.
This Mixtape includes music from Detroit Techno legends Model 500 and Inner City, to the Electro sounds of Dr Dre (long before his days of N.W.A.), and Newcleus. Then we crossed the pond to our UK neighbors and the sounds of trip-hop, drum and bass and broken beat by artists such as Tricky, Roni Size, and Bugz in the Attic. Then we head back to the States for the experiemental but soulful beats of today's artist such as Flying Lotus, DJ Blaqstarr, Outputmessage and Pursuit Grooves.
