Here at RadioMilwaukee, we play a lot of new music probably more than any other radio station in Milwaukee.I know a lot of you want to know more about some of the new music we are playing. So starting now, we will let you know little bit more about the music in a new feature called "What's New On 88Nine RadioMilwaukee".

In this post, we have new music from Atmosphere, EMC, Estelle, The Black Keys, I Wayne, My Morning Jacket, Santogold, Coldplay, Gnarls Barkley, The Heavy, and Milwaukee's King Go Forth. So click the "read more" to learn more.

The first song is "You" from Minneapolis' Atmosphere. The duo of producer Ant and rapper Slug are back for their new album "When Life Gives You Lemons, Paint That @#$! Gold". When Life Gives You Lemons... is entirely based around fictional narratives that deal with societal issues - many, which revolve around the theme of parenthood. To accompany the release, the album comes with a 40 page hard cover book that includes a children's story by Slug in addition to all of the lyrics. And this was done in part to celebrate Slug's growth as a writer.

eMC is next artist that we have new music from. The song is called "Don't Give Up On Us featuring Adi Mack from Growing Nation. eMC is a four member hip hop super group consisting of Masta Ace, Milwaukee's Stricklin', Punchline and Wordsworth. The song is from the great album "The Show". From Amazon: The Show is going to satisfy even the most Rap-hungry fan. With the combination Stricklin’s personality, the cleverness of Punchline and the word play and work ethic of Wordsworth, and the leadership of the Music Man himself Masta Ace, EMC is ready make some noise in the music industry.

The Black KeysIn rotation, we have the song "Oceans and Streams" from the latest album from The Black Keys entitled "Attack and Release". The new album was produced by versatile Danger Mouse. The band’s collaboration with Danger Mouse originated when they were asked to back up the great Ike Turner for his new album. After Turner unexpectedly passed away, the band continued to record with Danger Mouse and “Attack and Release” is the result. With Danger Mouse, The Black Keys didn't veer uncomfortably far from the elemental rock & roll territory they'd mined so effectively on previous albums like their 2006 Nonesuch debut, Magic Potion, or their Fat Possum discs, Rubber Factory (2004) and Thickfreakness (2003). But they were definitely in a mood to experiment on Attack and Release.

EstelleEstelle has been called the next Lauryn Hill. She can sing, rap and write. The song is "American Boy" and it features Kanye West. She reach #1 in the UK with this song. Estelle was the first artist to be signed to John Legend's label Homeschool. The Next Lauryn Hill? The real question is how much of her strengths are less substantial than Lauryn's. Like Hill, Estelle is as much at home with a cathartic reggae-tinged R&B jawn ("Come Over") as she is with a ball-busting rap chestnut ("Wait A Minute"). A woman of many flavors, she even offers a slice of patois swag on the Bob Marley-inspired "So Much out the Way." You know the whole story about Hill's obsession with Jamaican culture and her marriage to one of the Marleys.

My Morning JacketMy Morning Jacket has been hailed as the greatest live rock and roll band according to Esquire Magazine ahead of Radiohead and U2, and we got them on RadioMilwaukee with the tune "I'm Amazed". My Morning Jacket is an American rock band known for their reverb-heavy sound, their eclectic mix of indie rock, country rock, Southern Rock, psychedelic, and jam band styles, and enthusiastic and energetic live shows. Formed in 1998 in Louisville, Kentucky, the band signed with ATO Records four years later (Wikipedia). Their latest album Evil Urges is one not to sleep on.

Kings Go ForthMilwaukee's own dirty funk and soul band Kings Go Forth is in our rotation with their song "One Day". Consisting of a 9 piece funk band formed in the middle of 2007. The band consists of vocalists Danny Fernandez, Matt Norberg and Black Wolf (Bilal); Bass- Andy Noble; Guitar- Dan Flynn; Drums - Jeremy Kuzniar; Trombone - Dave Cusma; Trumpet and Jed Keyboards - Dave Wake. These guys can definitely give the Dap-Kings a run for their money. The band actually takes their name from the Frank Sinatra film of the same name.

SantogoldSantogold is an artist on everyone lips. She just dropped her critically acclaimed self-titled record. She has been called the future of music and even redefining modern R&B. You can not classify this record becuase it is all over the place. Rolling Stones has labeled her Top 10 artist to watch. Her music is everywhere including Bud Light commericials and TV Shows. We have had the songs "L.E.S. Artistes" and "Shove It" in rotation. Now check out "Say Aha"

Santogold - "Say Aha"

The HeavyThe next band is out of the UK. The Heavy is hard hitting rock with gritty soul. “Blending horn samples and noisy percussion into some furiously beat-driven songs, the Heavy often sound like the sort of street-smart band that would've ignited a bidding war between Stax and Sire Records in the mid-'60s. They combine Isaac Hayes with Gnarls Barkley, Curtis Mayfield with Jimi Hendrix, Mike Skinner's elastic delivery with Prince's falsetto vocals. For fans of retro-urban music, this sounds like a dream combination…” –Allmusic.com. Check out their song "Colleen" which you can here now on RadioMilwaukee.

I WayneThe next artist is for all the fans of reggae. Check out I Wayne's "Living in Love" from his debut album "Lava Ground". I Wayne (born Cliffroy Taylor 1980 in Portmore, Jamaica), is a roots reggae singer (Wikipedia). His album Lava Ground was praised for returning to reggae's "essential roots" in contrast to popular reggae artists who induce listeners to "dance and groove to their carefree music". This humble, 24 year old, singer has been the first cultural reggae artist to be added to Hot 97 in New York, a station notorious for its hip hop influence. Hear for yourself.

ColdplayThe next band does not need an introduction unless you have been under a rock in the past few years. Coldplay just released a new album called "Viva La Lida" (translated means Death and All His Friends). The English Band formed in London in 1998. Martin and Buckland meet at University College London during their orientation week in 1996. Completed band line-up when Will Champion was inducted as their drummer in 1998. Release 500 sopies of Safety EP in 1998, signed under Fierce Panda. Later signed with Parlophone. Commercial success came in 2000 when "Yellow" was released on the Parachutes album. Check out the new single "Violet Hill" and also check out the video.

Gnarls BarkleyThe next artists are truly an "odd couple" Gnarls Barkley have redfine what music can be. The duo consisting of Danger Mouse and Cee Lo joined forces again for their sophomore effort "The Odd Couple". Blend multiple genres together seemlessly is amazing. They are label mates with another genre bending artist by the name of Santogold. Don't miss them at this year's Summerfest. Check out the new single "Going On". There is also a cool video for the tune.
