The Power of the Web

As the Digital Manager for RadioMilwaukee, you see a lot on the web. Everything from basketball players jumping cars or to a crazed celebrity losing his or her temper. The web is great place to try make a quick buck. You can buy prescriptions to Viagra to bidding on a toast with the image of Jesus Christ on it.

Today, I just realize again why I like the web. It is not the elephant playing piano nor it is the ability to find some really cool music to download for free. It is the ability for anyone to tell their story. It is the ability to share an idea with the world and have a honest discussion. It is the power to create without any restrictions. Most importantly, it is the power to connect and hopefully have a better understanding of one another.

There are so many interesting stories of people from around the world. Like the one I found today from the epic-fu blog of a musician named Paul Dateh. It was quite a moving and and emotional story. Today, take time to find something on the web that is inspirational or moving to you and share it with someone.

Check out this cover of Amel Larrieux's "Get Up" by Paul (the guy in the video) and Ken Belcher. I thought the song would be appropriate with this post.
