The story behind J Dilla's Lost Scrolls

J Dilla's beats are legendary. The Detroit producer worked with hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest, MF Doom, Common, Questlove, and many many more artists in his career. Known more as a producer rather than an MC, J Dilla doesn't always get the credit that he deserves, but there is no doubt that he is one of the most influential producers to ever work in hip-hip. Here at 88Nine you can often hear his beats in the bed music we use for our voice breaks. Sadly, his death came in 2006 at the hands of a rare blood disease that he had been fighting for years. His legacy lives on around the world.

This past week, NPR's fantastic weekly show, Snap Judgement, featured a story about The Lost Tapes of J Dilla that will touch your heart.
