In the first hour, we featured new music from the rising LA duo Made In Heights. We played their new tune that sounds like a cross between Janet Jackson and Sylvan Esso. We also featured new music from Milwaukee’s Field Report, UK’s HUGH, and the soulful duo Denitia & Sene. Finally, we introduced you to Shay Lia, a new artist from Montreal. We played her very sensual tune produced by Kaytranada. 

In the second hour, Richard James’s alter ego Aphex Twin is back with his first album in 13 years. We played a track from his new album entitled Syro. Then we gave you some future funk from producer Redinho and some classic funk from Steve Arrington, who is best known as the frontman of funk legends Slave. We also featured another new track from Flying Lotus’ forthcoming album You’re Dead! Finally, we played new music from Bjork collaborator Herbert, SBTRKT and Scottish producer Rustie.

Victory Garden Initiative turns out class of local food leaders

Becoming an urban farmer may be a little easier than you may have thought, thanks a program at Victory Garden Initiative.

In it's Food Leader certificate program, staff at VGI teaches the basics of gardening and composting.  The yearlong program also focuses on community organizing and leadership, giving graduates the tools to create tangible change in their local food communities.

This week's download comes Berlin-based, British artist Gemma Ray. The singer/songwriter recently released her latest album called Milk For Your Motors. Gemma Ray produced the album with the help of a variety of contributors like Alan Vega (Suicide), Toby Dammit (Iggy Pop, Swans), Deke Leonard (The Man Band), Howe Gelb (Giant Sand),  and Fiona Brice (John Grant, Placebo).
