The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee brings in an interactive discussion with a distinguished panel of national experts led by Bakari Kitwana, author of THE HIP-HOP GENERATION, will dissect the contemporary media portrayal of "Blackness." From pop culture to politics, the panel will focus on how gender and class inform our understanding of race.

Panel features Mark Anthony Neal, author of NEW BLACK MAN; Joan Morgan, author of WHEN CHICKENHEADS COME HOME to ROOST; John Jennings, co-author BLACK COMIXZ and journalist Elizabeth Mendez Berry.
