Brew City Signers (BCS) is the nation's premier and only trivia league hosted in American Sign Language! Trivia leagues all over Milwaukee are hosted in the English language and incorporate a variety of questions such as geography, music, and more. Our league has already made history by being the first presented in American Sign Language. Further, we omit music questions and replace them with questions relating to Deaf culture. For example:

At noon, Sound Travels was at its most experimental as I went with an amazingly mystical cut from a group of Southern Italian ladies who create some of the most captivating polyphonic melodies I have ever heard (not that I know a ton about this sort of thing.) I do know that Faraualla are some women know what trip they are on. In researching them I found that the liner notes for their new album Ogni Male Fore says more about them than I ever could.

Right after New Music Wednesday I played a tune that is so captivatingly hypnotic that I got calls asking who it was right after I spun it. Aregntina's Juana Molina. Remember that name, she's got game. She has however, been taking her own sweet time getting this single out; about five years since her last. The new song from Juana is called "Eras" on an album called Wed 21 which is set for release on October 29th via Crammed Discs. It's hypnotic, rhythmic and a bit numeric actually.

All new, all day that's how Sound Travels on Wednesdays. Flow started at 10am with a rootsy tune from Andrea Echeverri, perhaps the single most important musician for the sound we now call Latin Alternative. Her foundation is her resume and the success she built with Hector Buitrago in their band Aterciopelados back in the heady and innovative days of Colombia's rock en español scene.
