After three years of planning and constuction, the newest branch is finally open for patrons to enjoy. The design is modern and inviting, totally replacing the aging structure that occupied the corner of Cramer St. and North Ave. since the late 1960s.
2014 is almost a rap, which means many things on many levels but as a DJ, it's definitely time to sum up the situation in the form of a best-of list. That's exactly what we've done here on Sound Travels and I've got part one of the top 16 global cuts of 2014!
It's not too often a feature length film -- actually shot on film -- is made in Milwauke. But two local writer-producers are working now to make it happen, scouting locations and raising money in hopes they'll be able to begin shooting in February 2015.
The dark comedy film, Give Me Liberty, follows a 19-year-old Russian immigrant who works as a medical transport driver. His grandfather’s health is failing, and he is trying to raise enough money to keep him out of a nursing home.
Proving that a great show is always in fashion, LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE is an international hit. With its compulsively entertaining subject matter, this intimate collection of stories by Nora and Delia Ephron celebrated an accomplished two-and-a-half year run in New York’s Westside Theatre. LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE is based on the best-seller by Ilene Beckerman as well as the recollections of the Ephrons’ friends.

Helping to revive the love of folk and grass music in the hearts of a new generation. Under The Willow is a string band featuring the lead vocals of Erin Donovan and Hayley Skreens. An original four piece rooted in but not limited to traditional bluegrass instrumentation. Using socially conscious and thought provoking lyrics forged with imaginatively original arrangements Under The Willow blends the sounds of Folk, Bluegrass, Newgrass, Jam Band, Rock, Reggae, Americana, with a twist of soul.

In the first hour, we have the fantastic Badbadnotgood reinterpretation of Future Islands’ “Seasons (Waiting On You).” We will also introduce you to a new electro-pop duo out of Montreal by the name of Milk & Bone. We will also play tracks from Guilty Simpson, Jose James, and Flying Lotus.
In the second hour, we debuted a brand new track from Mercury prize winning group Young Fathers. We will also featured a new Christmas song from the band Landlady featuring Sylvan Esso’s Amelia Meath. We played tracks from SBTRKT’s latest album, St. Paul’s The Stand4rd, and Cashmere Cat.
