Evan Paydon: Beyond Bass and Time.

Evan Paydon is a man on the low end of the spectrum. And while that may sound like an insult, I actually say it with the utmost respect and awe. You see, all life manifests itself from the deep. Our minds function using beta waves @ 13-30 Hz during our waking life. And the calmer one gets, the lower our brain waves go. Deep meditation induces theta waves @ 4-8 Hz. And deep, dreamless, sleep induces delta waves @ 1-3 Hz. Evan is most famously known as the bass player for The Delta Routine.

5 O'Clock Shadow 11-11-14: "Stay"

So I listened to this song after what felt like 15 years. Here's the revelation: It's an R&B Emo anthem. Who'd have thought? So it's strange that Shakespeare's Sister was born out of Siobahn Fahey's frustration with Bananarama, which I get because "Do I really, really HAVE to play 'Cruel Summer' AGAIN?"

Milwaukee's Field Report is having a very good year.  The band recently released the amazing Marigolden, the follow-up to their 2012 self-titled debut album. The mayor of Milwaukee proclaimed 'Field Report Day' back on October 22 before their album release show at The Pabst Theater.  Field Report also recorded a World Cafe session a few days ago.

Philadelphia might be well known for some amazing indie rock bands like Dr. Dog, War on Drugs and Strand of Oaks, but its growing R&B and electronic scene is about to steal the show and Philadelphia duo Marian Hill is leading that scene with their style of offbeat and futuristic R&B and funk.
