Yesterday for 414 Music Live, we hosted the Rusty P's, who are one of Milwaukee's longest running hip hop groups.  Rusty P's just dropped their 7th album entitled Pull The Trigger. Rusty P's consists of Phantom Channel and Count Classic and they will be performing a CD release show on Saturday, August 23 at Mad Planet.

Introducing Ladies Rock Milwaukee: Girls Rock Milwaukee's New Big Sister

The non-profit Girls Rock Milwaukee just celebrated its second year with a showcase at Turner Hall Ballroom.  Girls Rock Milwaukee is a camp for girls aged 8-16 with a focus on music education and performance. During the camp, the girls learn about songwriting, playing insturments, and working together in newly formed bands.  At the conclusion of the camp, the girls perform in their bands on Turner Hall Ballroom's stage.

Spindle India weaves fabric of community

Every weekend in Milwaukee, you can find a festival that celebrates the food, dance and music of a specific country and culture.  A few weeks ago, we visited the 2nd Annual India Fest in Humboldt Park in Bay View. Spindle India, the non-profit organization behind the festival, hopes to bring communities together through this eclectic event."India Fest is all about community," says Purnima Nath, president of Spindle India. "There are north of 22,000 Indians in Wisconsin.
