All November, our theme on In The Wings is mental health.
We'll be introducing you to people working to eliminate the stigma around the topic that, for many, can be hard to talk about and is often misunderstood.
For our first story, we're talking about addiction and recovery.
We venture to Meta House, a women-focused agency supporting people through recovery, where we meet Nicole Lindemann.
She is a peer support specialist who herself has battled addiction. She is openly in recovery, and through her work at Meta House, works one-on-one with women dealing with the disease.
Now nearly five years sober, she looks back on her years of addiction with purpose, and channels it into her work of giving back.
