Why Fermentation Fest could be Wisconsin's best food event

Fermentation FEst

Each Friday at 8 am on 88Nine, Milwaukee Magazine’s dining critic, Ann Christenson, and 88Nine foodie Tarik Moody discuss Milwaukee’s culinary and restaurant culture. On this week’s show, we reviewed our favorite food films from the Milwaukee Film Festival We also talked about one of the coolest food events of the year, Fermentation Festival. Then we chatted about some great fundraisers. If you are a chef or a restaurant and have an announcement or an event, please send any information or press release to  thisbites@radiomilwaukee.org.

If you love cheese, beer, Mezcal, bread, kimchi, kombucha, then the annual Fermentation Fest is for you.  Taking place over two weekends - Oct 6 & 8 and Oct 13 & 15 in Reedsburg, Fermentation Fest is a celebration of all things that are fermented.Fermentation Fest brings together farmers, chefs, artists, poets, and performers for tastings, demonstrations, cooking classes, art events, performances, food carts and more.

I have never seen a food event like this.  There are over 60 classes and workshops that will teach you about the microscopic organisms that make some of your favorite foods.  In addition to classes, the festival will offer a variety of events from a Mezcal dinner to a chocolate & beer pairing event. Here are some classes that will be available
