Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks On World Cafe | February 14, 2014

In 2001, when Pavement went on hiatus, its lead singer formed Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks. Nine years later, when Pavement re-formed for a successful tour, he wrote no new music for the occasion, but there was new material from The Jicks. There are now more albums by Stephen Malkmus and/or his Jicks than there are by Pavement. (Think about that for a second.)

The latest, Wig Out at Jagbags, features some of Malkmus' finest songwriting — as heard in this session.
