Listen: Some time this summer, when biking across town from East to West, I stumbled upon Amaranth Cafe on 34th and Lisbon. It is, in my humble opinion, the best bakery in the world. But then again, what do I know? The point is, I was delighted to find out that ceramic artist Muneer Bahauddeen’s studio is directly across the street from Amaranth (he also loves the cafe). We had a great conversation in his amazing studio, accompanied by works in progress and his cat:
Muneer’s art can be seen around the city of Milwaukee, as he has been involved in a number of public works in the past. His most notable recent work is included on the Walnut bridge, which is part of the Marquette Interchange construction project. Go out and see him!
