Oftentimes, when an individual is diagnosed with mental illness, they aren't pointed to the resources they need to help them meet the new set of challenges they're facing. And while their family may want to provide support, they may find themselves equally in the dark. This is where NAMI fits into the picture, both educating those directed effected by mental illness, but also working to raise awareness in the public.
