One Holy Weekend, Way Too Much Music

For no reason whatsoever, Milwaukee is facing one of its most music-laden stretch of days within recent memory. Seriously, the lineup in and around Easter weekend is staggering -- Booker T and JJ Grey, Hot Tuna, Joanna Newsom, Bassnectar, Paul Cebar, Beach House, Passion Pit, Mayer Hawthorne, Shearwater, Wye Oak. What cosmic forces aligned to make us deserve this? A household name that fits almost every household and then some.

Keeping in mind the breadth and depth that comes with bounty, perhaps you're looking for something a little more off the beaten path. Something a little more homegrown and hungry? Well, look no further than Club Girabaldi's on Friday night for a lineup stuffed end-to-end with household-names-to-be.

Headlining are the Brooklyn-via-everywhere up and comers called  Dinosaur Feathers. Full disclosure: I went to college with two thirds of the band. However, that didn't make me a fan -- they did. And then there's one of Milwaukee's newer bands,  Faux Fir. Their name may not be on the tip of your tongue, but they are poised to strike. Like a cobra. Like a cobra whose venom makes synths and aggressively-catchy melody coarse through your veins. But please, don't take my words for it: Filling out the lineup are the Fatty Acids.
