Listen: As mentioned earlier in the week, I was fortunate enough to sit down and talk with a few of the teenagers who come to the Pathfinders Drop In Center. The last youth I sat down with was Aaron McFarlane, a young man who’s faced an incredible set of challenges in his life. And his manner of presenting that adversity was striking — without pause, he’d reference sleeping in cars or outside in a matter of fact tone. In that same voice, he drew thoughtful conclusions and unrolled an ambitious plan for his future, complete with a step by step plan to make it happen.
