Listen: What do you do if you want a getaway but you can’t spend the time or money to jet off to a tropical island? Well, you don’t need to go any further than Wisconsin and 5th Street in downtown Milwaukee, to the City Center Hilton Hotel’s Paradise Landing indoor water park. Unfortunately, when I stopped there for an interview I didn’t bring my swimming gear, but a whole lot of other people did and it looked like a lot of fun.
At Paradise Landing, I met Darius Carr (no relation that I know of, although you never know…) who’s spending his summer as a lifeguard as part of the Earn and Learn program. And after a summer at the pool? He’s heading to Beijing, China to study Chinese. Awesome: see podcast below.
