Sound Travels Sunday: No Country Mixtape
Hope you like the Sunday ritual I have here at 88Nine; an hour-long mixtape that can take many forms. This weekend's ST was a all-in affair, breaking with themes and roaming the wide pasture of whatever strikes my fancy. Lately, I have been digging Brazilian music from the state of Minas Gerais. And was dying for an outlet for a new compilation I'm high on called Senegal '70. Chico Mann's got a new album coming out on the Wax Poetics label and the tune I had was too tasty not to include here. Hiplife from Ghana has been blowing up all over Africa, and Richy Pitch has an album that bears it's fruits, I may end up playing everything from his latest here on ST given some time.
