Well, St. Paddy's is soon upon us and before the scene gets too green, I thought I'd get the party started with some classic and newer Irish tunes and songs. Tomorrow, Whiskey of The Damned will be joining me in the studio with a pared down lineup and some still-incredible music. Thursday's 414 Music will also be a special Sound Travels edition, and we'll check in with Milwaukee's Myserk, to find out what the haps is with their St. Pat's festivities.
Speaking of Myserk, I had a couple of spinoffs of that group on today's ST; first, Brett Lipshutz & Randy Lee Gosa with a tune then Cé with another. Randy is in Myserk while Asher Gray, flautist for Myserk, is also in the Milwaukee Irish band Cé in addition to his regular funk-nasty self as one half of Milwaukee's electro duo The Glamour. That covers the Mil-town connect on today's ST, stay tuned for more such connections. I already mentioned the visitors we'll have in Whiskey of The Damned and Myserk but I'll also be hooking you up with songs from Cherish The Ladies, an all female Irish -American Celtic crew and music from The Sandcarvers later in the week as well.
If you're wondering what I had for today's Sound Travels, here's the line-up...
Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul "Craic With Jack" Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul
Brett Lipshutz & Randy Lee Gosa "Miss Galvin's / Ran's Dirty Vans" Night and Day
Cé "John Doherty's / Father Newman's Reel" Between Words
Gaelic Storm "Nancy Whiskey" Special Reserve
The High Kings "Whiskey In The Jar" Memory Lane
