Reverend Jamie Washam is originally from the Midland/Odessa, TX area, and you can hear gentle reminders of her native Texas when she speaks. She and her husband live in the Washington Park neighborhood and utilize everything from the Washington Park Library to the ACTUAL Washington Park. Jamie is also the Pastor at Underwood Memorial Baptist Church in Wauwatosa, WI. She and I sat down at Birdie's Cafe on Martin Drive (on the cusp of the Washington Park neighborhood) to talk about her life here in Milwaukee, her congregation, and her love of gardening.
