Today on the 2 o'clock Break, I thought I would look at the sounds of Pretty Lights.
Pretty Lights is one of my favorite electronic music producers. His style is deeply rooted in Hip Hop, however is style is anything but. Derek Smith (aka Pretty Lights) has played Milwaukee several times in the past few years, yet I always seem to miss him when he is here.
So today I thought we'd look at one of his tracks on 2 o'clock break.
"HOT LIKE SAUCE" is without a doubt my favorite Pretty Lights song...
The vocal sample at the very beginning of this track comes from an unexpected source. Aaron Neville's 1966 hit "Tell It Like It Is".
