This week on the 2 o'clock break, we are going to look at Holiday classics that have been sampled. When you think of Christmas music, many cover versions and remakes may come to mind, but many producers and sampled based artists have sampled these holiday hits to create brand new songs.
Today we find a super cool Christmas song, that was sampled, but not created into another holiday track.
In 1979, Paul McCartney released "Wonderful Christmastime". This song was recorded during a session for the album McCartney II, but was released as a single in the winter of '79.
Years later, on the 2001 album AOI:Bionix, De La Soul turned this holiday staple, into a year round party jam called "Simply".
