For the past few years, there have been rumors that D'Angelo will release a new album, and every year that rumor turned out to be false. However, it looks like this year, D'Angelo might actually release a new album, at least according to The Roots' Questlove. The fact that Questlove is apparently producing the new album, and D'Angelo is currently performing shows in Europe might mean the rumors are finally coming true.
A few hours ago, a possible new D'Angelo song in the form of a very rough cover of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" appeared on the internet. I'm not sure if this is a old cover, or a new one. Only time will tell, but you can listen to it below and be the judge yourself, and hope that D'Angelo will put what could be the most anticipated release of 2012.
