Are you ready for Cream City Sound Check? Well, get ready. This idea, created by Jenny Plevin and her posse at UWM's doc/UWM program (part of the Peck School of The Arts) is a perfect marriage of music and film. I met with Jenny at our favorite local coffee shop to talk about Cream City Soundcheck and doc/UWM's goals and mission.
Mix one part documentary with infinite parts local and national bands (such as Generationals, and Yacht), then shake 'em all up by taking said bands all over Milwaukee to visit its fine culinary, arts, drinking, neighborhood establishments and icons, THEN film said band's performance at Turner Hall, and you get Cream City Soundcheck.
