Lead to Succeed Milwaukee is a youth leadership development program where college students team up and mentor high school students in a service-learning project that focuses on local nonprofits and their needs. Students have to bring out their ‘inner leader’ and really work on problem solving skills while they help design and plan each service-learning project.
One of those projects is the “ Social Entrepreneurship Competition”. This is where College Project Managers will lead a team of high school students in the creation of a business plan that will essentially make a positive impact in the community. This specific project focuses on the water industry. High school students will submit their final business canvas by May 4 th and will present it at the Lead to Succeed End of the Year Celebration Ceremony on May 11 th.
Students have access to Basecamp, a project management website and they attend monthly meetings at the OpenMiKE facility at Spreenkler Talent Labs. Hear from some of the students involved and Lead to Succeed’s Karen Gratz, by clicking the podcast below.
