Alexis Beverly is a freshman at Shorewood High School and she recently received a $1,000 grant from Lead2Change for her project “ Beauty Within”.
This project aims to help girls free comfortable with their weight. The girls range in age from 7 to 14. Some girls attend Shorewood with Alexis, while others just heard about the project from Alexis’ family and church.
The first workshop was focused around nutrition and it was held back in December. Alexis plans to cover other topics such as hygiene, undergarments, etiquette for professional settings, and a spa day.
