Sound Travels is all about covers this week. Today, we followed our first helping with another batch of familiar tunes from foreign climes and even managed to get some of the newest stuff into the set. New like 2012 new, icluding the Brazilian cover of Eddy Grant on the comp called London's Calling by the group Cumbe or Benin's Angelique Kidjo all over Bob Dylan from the new Chimes Of Freedon compilation.
Add to that, music from the project that got Brazilian crooner Seu Jorge recognized, the soundtrack of Steve Zissou's Life Aquatic. And round it out by returning The Police's "Can't Stand Losing You" to it's reggae roots on Steel Pulse's nice lil version and a Sound Travels we did make. Here's what went down...
Seu Jorge "Space Oddity"
Angelique Kidjo "Lay, Lady Lay"
Cumbe "Electric Avenue"
Steel Pulse "I Can't Stand Losing You"
