Jake's Deli: Preserving Milwaukee history with corned beef on rye

Jake's Deli has been a Milwaukee institution since 1955, serving up hand-carved deli

sandwiches in the Lindsey Heights Neighborhood. Walking into Jake's you feel like you've stepped into a time machine. You can order to-go service from the counter, or eat-in at one of their original wooden booths.

Using original recipes, Jake's cooks up 3-4,000 pounds of meat each week. Even though Jake's Deli has no plans to leave their original location at 17th and North, they were able to open two new locations this year.

As of March 1st, they will have a permanent home in the food court at the Shops of Grand Avenue, and just opened a smaller location at the BMO Harris Bradley Center, called the "Carvery".
