We've spent this week gettin' funky with the music of George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic. Few groups influenced hip hop music the way P-Funk did, and today's sample example features a group who could be called the "sons of P-Funk". I'm talking about Digital Underground.
From their style of dress, to the way the make music, you can draw a direct line from P-Funk to Digital Underground. They have collaborated with George several times over the years, and have sampled his music throughout thier career. The 1989 hit "Humpty Dance" is a great example of this...
The main melody for this track, comes from the Parliament song "Let's Play House".
(sorry this video makes no sense, but there are lot os houses in it!)
